Many of the ingredients we use are clinically proven to be effective and studies are available online (great bedtime reading!).
Studies have shown that lavender oil is cytophylactic and replaces previously damaged and mature skin with new healthy skin.
It is also an astringent which induces contractions, closing pores, toning and firming the skin. Therefore this tightening effect reduces the appearance of your wrinkles.
Lavender is a powerful cicatrisant, so it helps the scars and other spots on your skin to fade and vanish. It facilitates blood circulation just below the surface of your skin and also helps promote a uniform distribution of melanin.
Amaranth is one of the few plants that shows a high concentration of squalene. Squalene is a powerful antioxidant that prevents UV damage and the formation of age spots. It also promotes skin cell growth.
In addition, amaranth contains high amounts of tocopherols, tocotrienols and linoleic acid. Tocopherols have been proven to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions, which can help protect skin, speed wound healing, and provide anti-ageing effects.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) have been shown to promote smoother, younger looking skin by increasing the rate of cell renewal and have excellent moisturising properties.
They work by decreasing the compounds that hold dead skin on the surface. By breaking down these compounds, the dead cells slough off, leaving behind a layer of smoother, softer skin.
This has been clinically proven to improve the skin’s appearance by regenerating skin cells. It is rich in topical trans-retinoic acid (vitamin A) and is used by dermatologists to increase collagen production in the dermis. It is the gold standard in anti-ageing skincare.
Rosehip oil is rich in natural retinoic acid. Research published in the Journal of Dermatological Science reported that treatment with retinoic acid restored the elastic fibres that keep skin taut and reduced the appearance of wrinkles.

It contains triterpenes. These naturally occurring chemical compounds are thought to deactivate collagen fibre destruction This can minimise the appearance of fine lines and result in plumper skin.
