Argan Oil has been used in Morocco for centuries as a traditional remedy for eczema and dermatitis.
It is nutrient rich and contains essential fatty acids (EFA’s), vitamin E, polyphenols, carotenoids (provitamin A compounds), ferulic acid, triterpenoids and phytosterols.
These components are important in making the body healthy, particularly the skin and studies have shown these components effectively treat eczema and dermatitis.
Argan oil reduces inflammation, irritation, itching and restores the skins barrier function therefore increase the skins ability to retain moisture.
Recent studies show that in eczema, both the outer and lower layers of the skin are “leaky”. This leaky skin damage is caused by the increased colonization of the skin surface and gland ducts by pathogenic microbes.
Argan oil contains vitamin A which is known for suppressing excessive cellular growth in the skin. It not only reduces bacterial population in the skin but also in the gland ducts of the skin.
This means that vitamin A compounds can help restore the protective barrier of the skin by stopping the bacterial damage that leads to leaky skin. By performing these functions, argan oil relieves and cures eczema and dermatitis.
Neem is clinically proven to be an effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory, relieving both pain and inflammation.
A compound called sodium nimbinate found in neem leaves has been shown to provide significant relief to inflamed tissue. Other compounds such as nimbin, nimbinin and nimbidol are comparable to cortisone acetate (steroids) in reducing inflammation.
Neem oil also contains the natural anti-histamine querecetin which has been scientifically proven to reduce the allergic response to allergens. Querecetin is also a natural anti-inflammatory.
Lavender oil reduces the inflammation, dryness and itching associated with eczema and dermatitis and heals the skin.
